About

RadioPete is Pete Day.  I was born and have lived in East London most of my life.  I am passionate about community radio giving people a voice who would otherwise be ignored by the mainstream media.

Over the last few years I have been involved with various community radio projects.  Most of the material on this site were broadcast as part of the Community Hour on NuSound Radio. Based at Forest Gate in Newham, NuSound Radio broadcast locally on 92FM and stream live from their website .  Mixed programming includes output in several different languages, reflecting the diverse make up of the local community.

I first got involved with radio at Whitechapel AM, the Hospital Radio service for the Royal London.  I won 1st and 3rd prizes in consecutive years in the national Hospital Broadcasting Association awards in the Best Speech Package category.

I was also an occasional contributor to the now defunct Sound Radio (based in Hackney broadcasting on 1503am).  I have also featured on Beta Bangla and “The Wireless” which is run in partnership with Age UK.
